This is one camp that you need to include in your itinerary for the Serengeti. The whole experience is just something that I will remember for a long time. From the moment you arrive you feel at home and the people really care about you. Everything were carefully explained, from the showers to the walkie talkie. Joseph that filled our buckets for the showers every night was a star. The tent is huge and the bathroom section has everything that you will find in a chalet. It was wonderful going to bed each night with the unspoilt view of thesurroundings."

Great camp, friendly staff
We spent one night at Olakira Camp when it was at the Mara river. Beautiful location, perfect wilderness feel and very friendly staff. We even managed to see the Wildebeest migration cross the Mara river twice!!"

Our Happy New Year Adventure!
My daughter and I were guests of Olakira during the second week of January, 2014. Our first impression was "Oh my, are we going to be okay?" Well, after 1 full day and night we were in love with it! Being put out in tent #8 out of 9 guests tents, and being pretty far away from the main camp, we needed to be brave and confident. We did just fine. It ended up being our favorite 3 days of our 4 country,16 day adventure. Our guide, Goodluck was great, and so were all of the staff, including our Maasai warrior who escorted us to our tent every night. The food is fantastic! The other guests we got to know at meal times were interesting and fun. And then there are the animals! I am still thinking about them 3 weeks later. I highly recommend staying at this camp. You will have everything you need and then some, and you will take home some fantastic memories! (By the way; I am 57 and my daughter is 26)."

“Amazing Staff, Amazing Atmosphere....Amazing Experience Indeed”
My wife and I were lucky enough to have spent a few days with the wonderful team at Dunia. We can't thank them enough for their high attention to detail and a level of service you would normally recieve from a 5-star resort... Let alone in the middle of the Serengeti. Truly a magical experience from the food, to the accommodations but more importantly the folks who went above and beyond time and time again. Japhet and team provide us both with memories of our honeymoon we will cherish for a lifetime."

The camp is absolutely gorgeous and is a permanent camp. There is a main lounging area with comfy sofas and chairs open to the great outdoors of course, and an eating tent. We are greeted with scented washcloths and cinnamon apple juice on arrival. We stay in tent #3 and is a triple. The beds and pillows are comfy and the tent spacious. The front area has a couch and couple of chairs. The bathroom has bucket shower, sink, flush toilet and good towels. There are a few lamps. The camp is run on solar power. There is a 24 hr charge station. The bathroom has many amenities including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, q-tips, laundry soap. There is complimentary laundry which we take advantage of.
At supper they provide complimentary alcoholic drinks and red and white wine. Meals are very tasty and the ambience is fantastic! The staff is amazing and very friendly. They truly make you feel welcome! During the day you are free to walk around camp, at night they provide an escort which you can call with a walkie talkie system. I would highly recommend this camp!"

Spectacular. Don't miss this camp!
This was my first time to the Serengeti but not the first time to camp... If you can call it that! Dunia camp is truly a magical place. From the people (Angel is an angel) to the food to the accommodations, this place is like no other. We were fortunate to be there during the migration and could watch the wildebeests as we lay in bed. Pretty cool. Here you are in the middle of what feels like miles and miles and miles away from anything and you are served gourmet meals. I agree with everyone who has written (and sent some very awesome pictures too), Dunia Camp is spectacular. Thanks to the entire staff! You all are fantastic!"

Be pleasantly surprised
Would echo the comments of other travelers in the luxury, service and food quality of Dunia. Richard, the manager, and his team are amazing and try to anticipate every guest's needs, including specific food requests which is incredible given how remote the camp is. Tip: The pre-dinner campfire and the communal dinners are great experiences, but the staff can also prepare a private dinner slightly away from the other guests if you want privacy."

Most enjoyable stay here. Excellent guides.
Most enjoyable stay here. Excellent guides. Appears to be the best located camp in the area as all the other camps are much further away from the river, near where many animals congregate. Couldn't believe the number of different lions we saw."

A memorable and hugely exciting stay in a very friendly camp
We arrived at Kwihala rather jaded after a long journey, interrupted by a rather delayed flight. However, our welcome at the airstrip by assistant guide Levarde and our subsequent 3 day safari obliterated all tiredness. A really great welcome, an amazingly good and knowledgeable guide, Pietro, who had a great sense of humour and real skill at navigating the bush at exciting speeds. Having a head guide and an assistant/trainee who helps to spot game is a great advantage. We were privileged to have superb sightings of leopard every day of our stay, but perhaps more due to Pietro's skill than luck, plus very close encounters with a multitude of lion, and cheetah, elephant, zebra, kudu etc.etc. Sarah runs a very happy and friendly home base. Tents well sited for privacy, and well appointed without being ritzy - you really feel that you are "on the land". We must go back."

Fabulous Stay at an Unforgettable Place
I can’t say enough good things about this camp, their staff, and its location. From the moment we stepped off the plane and were greeted by our guide, Reuben, we were made to feel welcome, and most importantly, comfortable and safe. When we arrived at camp, Richard, the manager, really made us feel at home. Our three boys, aged 11, 13 and 15, shared a tent, and my husband and I had the tent next to it. It was incredible to have such comfortable accommodations in such a remote place - flush toilet, hot bucket shower, an actual bed, and a lounge area."
